Present, Past & Future Perfect Continuous Tense – 

English grammar is incomplete without a strong knowledge of Perfect Continuous Tenses, which combine duration with completion sense. These tenses highlight how long an action has been happening up to a definite point of time.

Use has been with singular subjects, have been with plural subjects.

Has been का प्रयोग एकवचन (he, she, it, Ram) के साथ और have been का प्रयोग बहुवचन (I, we, you, they) के साथ होता है।

Rule 2 (English):

Use since for point of time, for for period of time.

Hindi :

Since का प्रयोग समय के निश्चित बिन्दु के लिए और for का प्रयोग समय अवधि के लिए होता है।

Rule 3 (English):

The action must have started earlier and is still going on.

 Hindi :

Past Perfect Continuous Tense:

Definition:

The Past Perfect Continuous Tense shows an action that started in the past, continued for some time, and then another past action occurred.

Subject + had been + verb (ing) + since/for + time

  • She had been cooking for two hours when I reached home.

  • They had been studying since morning before the test began.

  • It had been raining for a long time before the match started.

Rule 1 (English):

Use the Past Perfect Continuous for an action ongoing before another action in the past.

अतीत की दो क्रियाओं में पहले समय तक चलने वाली क्रिया Past Perfect Continuous में होती है।

Definition:

  • They will have been travelling for five hours by 6 p.m.
